Kenai Peninsula students finish the school year Wednesday, with a handful of graduation ceremonies still on the calendar.
Schools Superintendent Sean Dusek…
Dusek: “Their last day is Wednesday and teachers’ last day is Thursday. Another fantastic year in our schools, I really, really am proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish with kids’ learning and we will continue to make sure everybody knows exactly what’s happening within our schools.”
High school seniors have already graduated at Homer, Soldotna, Nikiski and Seward. Wednesday’s ceremonies include Kenai, Ninilchik and River City Academy.
Seniors are not the only ones leaving the schools, the district is also saying goodbye to many educators and staff.
Dusek: “It’s been a great year, lots of accomplishments by our students and our staff and you know, I wanted to wish our retires well.”
The school district is reminding parents to update contact information, so schools can communicate with families during the summer break.
