The Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Sport Fish is requesting that people utilize online resources to obtain permits or sport fishing licenses to help minimize the transmission of COVID-19. In a Wednesday release, Fish and Game staff say they are committed to continuing to serve the public while maintaining a healthy and safe working environment.

The Department has an online store that can be used to:

  • Purchase a license or register a sport fishing guide or guide business;
  • Apply for a Senior or Disabled Veteran License;
  • Obtain a sport, personal use or subsistence permit.

Additionally, they have an online portal where anglers can report personal use or subsistence fishing permit harvests.

Sport fishing guides and business operators can find a sport fishing guide or business registration information online, as well.

Finally, saltwater log book information, including the option for saltwater charter businesses to sign up for an eLogBook, is also available online.

In their release, the Department of Fish and Game reminds Alaskans to practice social distancing and follow local mandates regarding the wearing of masks in public places. If you must visit an Fish and Game office located in a community requiring mask mandates, they ask that a mask be worn.
