The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including one case on the Kenai Peninsula Borough. The total positive case count in the state now stands at 246.
These cases are reported using the new timetable of reporting counts, which includes 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on April 9.
Among the numbers released by health officials are the “recovered” patients, meaning people who no longer require isolation and who state epidemiologists deem as being “free of the disease.” The total of recovered patients, as of Friday’s update, stands at 55 out of the 246 total positive cases that have been reported.
One new hospitalization has been reported, making the state total now stand at 28. The Department’s data also shows that 7,432 cumulative tests have been conducted.
