This year’s 11th Annual Way Out Women’s Snowmachine ride was extraordinary for a few reasons. Organizer Kathy Lopeman says they raised over $105,000…
Lopeman: “So we’ll be able to help at least 105 people this year. It was an absolutely amazing turnout, everybody had a really really good time, played lots of games, we had great food, it was just crazy. I’m still wowed myself.”
There was no ride this year, with the trails too bare for snowmachines and too icy for four-wheelers, but that didn’t stop the crowd from having fun and raising thousands for local cancer patients.
Lopeman: “Such a giving community and because every cent we raise goes directly back to those folks who need it. There’s no overhead costs, everything is donated by the community so it’s amazing. I get almost teary talking about it.”
The 2015 event was dedicated to Lynn Pollard who passed away from colon cancer just a few weeks ago. Lynn was a regular at the event, assisting behind the scenes for years.
