1,200 HEA Members Affected by Thursday Night Outage

10:20 pm Update: 

All power has been restored to the 1,200 Kasilof Homer Electric customers affected by this evening’s outage.

 

The cause of the outage was a tree that fell onto a power line in the Terrace Drive area.

 

9:30 pm update: 

Power has been returned to most of the Kasilof residents affected by the power outage which began around 6:00 pm this evening.

 

Sixty-eight members remain without power near Terrace Drive.

Homer Electric Association crews are responding to a power outage in Kasilof that began at 6:15 pm.

 

HEA’s Joe Gallagher…

 

Gallagher: “It is affecting about 1,200 HEA members in Kasilof between the intersection of the Sterling Highway and K-Beach Road in Kasilof and the outage extends south towards Ninilchik, just a little bit north of Ninilchik. We do not know the cause of the outage at this time(7:23 pm, Thursday night).”
