The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported 13 new cases of COVID-19, as well as one new fatality. Three new hospitalizations in Alaska were also included in Wednesday’s update. The total positive case count in the state now stands at 226.

These cases are reported using the new timetable of reporting counts, which includes 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on April 7.

Among the numbers that Dr. Anne Zink, Alaska’s Chief Medical Officer, has discussed in her daily briefings are the “recovered” patients, meaning people who no longer require isolation and who state epidemiologists deem as being “free of the disease.”  The total of recovered patients, as of Wednesday’s update, stands at 32 out of the 226 total positive cases that have been reported.

Four new hospitalizations have been reported, making the state total now stand at 27.  The Department’s data also shows that 7,068‬ cumulative tests have been conducted.
