A crash involving a semi-trailer forced traffic on the Glenn Highway to be rerouted into Anchorage.
Anchorage police reported that just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, an 18-wheeler struck the south Eagle River overpass of the Glenn Highway, closing all in-bound lanes.
Drivers heading into Anchorage were advised to get off the Glenn Highway at the North Eagle River exit and return to the highway at the Highland exit.
According to the DOT, the closure could be possibly last 3 -5 days as crews work to repair the bridge.
Drivers are advised to plan accordingly and drive safely. The Anchorage Police department is deploying extra offices in the area to help monitor and control traffic.
