1A & 2A State Basketball Crowns Champions: 3A & 4A Next

The 2018 ASAA 1A and 2A State Basketball Championships crowned champions in girls and boys basketball on Saturday night at the Alaska Airlines Center at UAA; the Ninilchik girls finish as the consolation-bracket champion.

 

1A State Championship Saturday: Girls Results

The #1 and #2 seeded girls teams, Scammon Bay and King Cove gave way to the #3 and #4 seeds Davis Ramoth and Aniak as the Aniak Halfbreeds defeated the Selawik Wolves in the 1A Girls championship game on Saturday.

1A Girls State Championship Game:  Aniak Girls 55 – Davis Ramoth (Selawik) 44

1A Girls 3rd Place Game:  Scammon Bay 68 – King Cove 50

1A Girls Consolation Bracket Final:  Ninilchik Girls 36 – Kake 18

 

Ninilchik 36 – Kake 18: Consolation Bracket Final

The Wolverines, following a first round loss to Selawik, rallied for three-straight victories at the 1A basketball championships concluding with a 36-18 victory over Kake on Saturday.

DeeAnn White lead the Wolverines with 20 points, her third 20+ game in the four tournament games for Ninilchik.

DeeAnn White was selected to the 1A Girls All-Tournament Team.

 

 

1A State Championship Saturday: Boys Results

The Noatak Lynx dominated the field in the boys 1A division with an impressive tournament run through the 1A competition, capped by a 71-35 dismantling of the Nunamiut Wolves.

1A Boys State Championship Game:  Noatak 71 – Nunamiut 35

1A Boys 3rd Place Game:  Scammon Bay 68 – King Cove 50

 

2A State Championship Saturday: Girls Results

2A Girls State Championship Game:  Tikigaq Girls 47 –  Metlakatla 38

2A Girls 3rd Place Game:  Nenana 71 – Unalaska 47

 

2A State Championship Saturday: Boys Results

2A Boys State Championship Game:  Metlakatla 49 -Unalaska 45

2A Boys 3rd Place Game:  Unalakleet 66  – Tok 55
