The 2018 ASAA 1A State Basketball Championships opens four-days of competition with 16 first-round games scheduled for March 14th at the Alaska Airlines Center at UAA.
The Ninilchik girls and Nikolaevsk boys qualified for the state tournament based on runner-up finishes at the 2018 Peninsula Conference Basketball Tournament.

1A State Basketball Tournament: Girls Bracket
The Ninilchik Wolverine girls open tournament play on Wednesday, March 14th in the tournament’s first game, scheduled for 8:00 a.m. at the Alaska Airlines Center on court one.
The Wolverines draw the #3 seeded Davis Ramoth School from Selawik, Alaska. The Wolves represent the Northwest Arctic Conference and compiled an 11-1 record against Northwest Arctic opponents.
The Wolverines represent the Peninsula Conference as the conference tournament runner-up. Ninilchik finished the season with a 9-1 conference record and an 18-6 overall record.

Wednesday’s first round winners advance to the Championship Bracket and continue play on Thursday on the main floor. First round losers move to the Consolation Bracket and continue play on Thursday in the auxiliary gym.

The Nikolaevsk Warriors open tournament play on Wednesday, March 14th in a first-round game, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Alaska Airlines Center on court one.
The Warriors draw the #2 seeded Kake from Kake, Alaska. The Thunderbirds represent the Southeast Conference.
The Warriors represent the Peninsula Conference as the conference tournament runner-up. Nikolaevsk finished the season with a 10-4 conference record and an 15-9 overall record.
