2020 Kenai River Marathon Run Set For Late Summer

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 2020 Kenai River Marathon Run Series on September 27.

 

Proceeds generated from the Kenai River Marathon will go to the Kenai Community Foundation to support the development of parks and recreation in and around Kenai. The Kenai River Marathon is hosted by the Kenai Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center in partnership with the City of Kenai, as well as many community volunteers.

 

Participants will receive their race packet, be briefed on the course, and enjoy a spaghetti feed provided by the Kenai Little League on Saturday, September 26, at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Dinner presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. Donations to the Kenai Little League will be accepted.

 

The following day, the Full, Relay, and Half Marathon start time will be at 9:00 a.m. from the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex. The 5K Fun Run start time is at 10:15 a.m. from the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center.

 

Apple Bus Company is going to offer shuttle services from the Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center to the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex the morning of the 2020 Kenai River Marathon Run Series. First Shuttle will leave Visitor Center at 7:00 a.m. The second shuttle will leave at 7:30 a.m. The final shuttle will leave at 8:00 a.m. The Chamber of Commerce reminds participants to plan accordingly for the 9:00 a.m. start.

 

Registration is taking place online at KenaiRiverMarathon.org. There is no race day registration. Also, due to road construction and the new course, the 2020 Kenai River Marathon will not be a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
