3 New Positive COVID-19 Cases, Active Case Count Rising

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported three new positive COVID-19 cases in their Monday update. That makes the total positive case count in the state 399. One of the new cases is out of Anchorage while the other two are out of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

 

The number of active cases of COVID-19 patients in the state is 44. The active case-count has not been at 50 or higher since May 5, but the count was as low as 34 as recently as May 13.  The total number of recovered patients, as of Monday’s update, is now 345.

 

No new deaths have been reported, with that total remaining at ten fatalities.

 

The total number of tests conducted in the state thus far is 35,611,‬ with 1,907 conducted in the Kenai Peninsula Borough.

 

These cases are reported using the state’s timetable of reporting counts: 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on May 17.
