3A Peninsula Conference Basketball Wraps Regular Season

The 3A Peninsula Conference wrapped-up play on Saturday with a sweep by the Kenai Kardinals over Homer and the Nikiski Bulldogs dropping a pair against Grace Christian School.

 

Kenai Girls 47 – Homer 29

The Kenai girls held Homer to three points in the third quarter and only 12 points in the second half as Kenai improved to 4-4 in the Peninsula Conference standings with a 47-29 victory over Homer.

Emma Beck lead all scorers with 23 points and Chloe Goldsby added 13 for the Kardinal girls.  Kenai shot 11 of 13 from the free throw line for the game.

The Kenai girls will be the #3 seed into the 3A Peninsula Conference Tournament scheduled for Grace Christian School on March 9-11.*  The Grace Grizzlies girls are unbeaten at 8-0 in the conference.

 

Kenai Boys 71 – Homer Boys 34

Behind a 24-point effort by both Wade James and Jakob Kvasnikoff, the Kenai boys overpowered Homer 71-34 in the Peninsula Conference finale’ on Saturday at KCHS.

Kenai built a 36-16 lead at the half and extended to a 25-point lead after three quarters.  The Kardinal boys improve to 6-2 in the Peninsula Conference and should be the #2 seed into the 3A Peninsula Conference Tournament scheduled for Grace Christian School on March 9-11.*  The Grace Grizzlies are unbeaten at 8-0 in the conference.

 

Grace Girls 63 -Nikiski Girls 23

Grace finishes Peninsula Conference play undefeated at 8-0 and will be the #1 seed in next weeks 3A Peninsula Conference tournament at Grace Christian School.

Nikiski owns a 1-7 conference record and will be the #5 seed on the girls bracket.

 

Grace Boys 65 -Nikiski Boys 15

Grace finishes Peninsula Conference play undefeated at 8-0 and will be the #1 seed in next weeks 3A Peninsula Conference tournament at Grace Christian School.

Nikiski owns a 1-7 conference record and will be the #5 seed on the boys bracket.

 

*official seeding and brackets will be released Sunday
