5.1 Magnitude Quake Jolts Kenai Peninsula Saturday Afternoon

Some people reported feeling a small jolt while others say they were rocked sharply while sitting in their vehicles, did you feel the earthquake around 1 pm Saturday afternoon?

 

The U.S. Geological Survey ranked it as a 5.1 magnitude shake centered approximately 21 miles southeast of Mount Redoubt. The Alaska Earthquake Information Center ranked the jolt as only a 4.9.

 

The earthquake originated about 61.5 miles deep on the west side of the Cook Inlet.
