On April 8th and 9th, KSRM sister stations 106.9 the Fuse and Q 100 the Point focused on kids with the St. Jude Kids Radiothon raising money to become a Partner in Hope for research and treatment of catastrophic diseases in children, primarily pediatric cancers.
Nathan Johnson, Marketing Consultant for KSRM Radio, “This year, we kicked it off, our first ever Rock Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon. We were very successful. In my opinion, if I raised one dollar for the kids at St. Jude, to me, that was a benefit. The listeners on the rock side of it came together and we raised $19,192 for the kids at St. Jude. Huge first year for us. It was just tremendous how the rock listeners came out in force and really stepped up to the plate. We were really pleased by that. Of course, it was our 12th year for Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon over on Q KWHQ 100.1. We had a huge year, it was fantastic. We did $43,412 over on the Q. I just want to say thank you to all of the listeners out there that called in and became a sponsor, a Partner in Hope. To hear some of the people calling in and donating because of their friends, their moms or dads, their grandparents, their own kids, it was just a huge effort on everybody’s behalf.”
The total combined from both stations was $62,604. To date, St. Jude has treated more than 20,000 children from across the United States and 60 foreign countries. St. Jude covers all costs not covered by insurance for medical treatment rendered at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
