The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported eight new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. The total positive case count in the state now stands at 293. One case came from Sterling, three from Anchorage, three from Juneau, and one from Nome.
These cases are reported using the state’s timetable of reporting counts: 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on April 14.
Among the numbers released by health officials are the “recovered” patients, meaning people who no longer require isolation. The total number of recovered patients, as of Wednesday’s update, stands at 106 out of the 293 total positive cases that have been reported. That marks 8 new recoveries.
Two new hospitalizations have been reported, upping the state cumulative total to 32.
