The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported nine new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The total positive case count in the state now stands at 309. One of the reported cases is from Kenai.
Of the eight non-Kenai cases, seven were reported in Anchorage and one in Juneau.
These cases are reported using the state’s timetable of reporting counts: 12:00 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on April 16.
Of the new cases, two are male and seven are female. Two are aged 10-19; one is aged 20-29; two are aged 30-39; one is aged 40-49; one is aged 50-59; and two are aged 60-69. There have been a total of 36 hospitalizations and nine deaths with one new hospitalization and no new deaths reported yesterday.
The total number of recovered patients, as of Friday’s update, stands at 128 out of the 309 total positive cases that have been reported. That marks 18 new recoveries.
One new hospitalization has been reported, upping the state cumulative total to 36. No new deaths were reported, keeping that total at nine. Over 9,000 tests have been administered, according to the state.
