BlueCrest Addressing Luncheon with Project Update, Local Hire Status

BlueCrest Energy will provide an update on their Anchor Point oil and gas projects during the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday.

Larry Burgess with BlueCrest says oil production from the existing Hanson well will start by about April but the company’s endeavor to install an offshore platform and produce gas has been put on hold.

Burgess: “We are waiting to hear back on any decisions that are made with the Alaska legislature and the governor on changing the tax credit structure. And if the tax credit structure does not remain the same or a reasonable alternative is put in place of value to BlueCrest, the offshore project is unlikely to move forward. Very unlikely.”

Burgess will provide a full update on their current projects and status of local hire initiatives at the Wednesday, January 20, luncheon which will start at 12 noon at the Kenai Visitors Center.

Anyone interested is asked to RSVP by 2 pm today(Tuesday) by calling the Kenai Chamber at 283-1991.
