Local Skiers Compete In Besh Cup Series Races 3 & 4

The Besh Cup Sereis, Alaska’s premier cross country ski competition, continued with Besh Cup Series Race #3 and #4 on the trails at Lookout Mountain in Homer.  The Besh Cup Series is a series of six races which are qualifiers for the Alaska Junior Olympic Team and for Team Alaska for the Arctic Winter Games.  Collegiate skiers and Master skiers also compete in the age-group ski events.

In Besh Cup Series Race #3, top central peninsula racers included:

Female U-16

Addison Gibson, 5th place in U-16 Female 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Kellie Arthur, 20th place in U-16 Female 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Male U-16

Koby Vinson, 13th place in Male U-16 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Jeremy Kupferschmid, 17th place in Male U-16 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Female Over U-16

Sadie Fox (UAA), 13th place in over U-16 Female 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Hannah Potash, 26th place in over U-16 Female 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Male Over U-16

Levi Micheal, 21st place in over U-16 Male 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

Karl Danielson, 28th place inover U-16 Male 1.5K Freestyle Sprint

 

In Besh Cup Series Race #4, top central peninsula racers included:

Female Combined: U-16 raced with older racers

Riana Boonstra, 8th place in Female 5K Interval Classic; 2nd in U-16 results

Addison Gibson, 9th place in Female 5K Interval Classic; 3rd in U-16 results

Sadie Fox (UAA), 15th in Female 5K Interval Classic

Kellie Arthur, 48th place in Female 5K Interval Classic

Hannah Pothash, 52nd in Female 5K Interval Classic

Male U-16 5 K

Koby Vinson, 10th in Male 5K Interval Classic

Jeremy Kupferschmid, 26th in Male 5K Interval Classic

Male 10K

Levi Micheal, 23rd in Male 10K Interval Classic

Karl Danielson, 29th in Male 10K Interval Classic

Besh Cup Series Races 5 & 6 are scheduled for February 6th and 7th, 2016 at Birch Hill in Fairbanks.
