HEA to Update Fuses from Kasilof Along K-Beach towards Kenai

Homer Electric Association will begin maintenance work in March that may require short outages along K-Beach Road from Kasilof to approximately Mile 13 or Jacobs Avenue.

HEA’s Joe Gallagher says crews will be installing new fuses along the power lines to improve reliability of their electric services.

Gallagher: “As we do the work, it’s possible there may be outages in the neighborhood that the crews are at on any particular day. The outages should be very short, no longer than 30 minutes and once the crews are through, the HEA member will not see another outage related to that work.”

The work is scheduled to begin on March 2 and last through the month.

Gallagher says if any scheduled outages are required for that work, crews will attempt to contact the HEA members that may be affected before the outage.
