Wade Marrs of Willow reached the Iditarod Sled Dog Race Finish Line in Nome as of 11:22 am Tuesday, achieving fourth place with Peter Kaiser of Bethel finishing in fifth place just two minutes later.
That rounds out the top five mushers in 2016’s race. Dallas Seavey crossed the finish line first at 2:20 am Tuesday, followed closely by his father Mitch Seavey of Seward less than an hour later.
Aliy Zirkle arrived at the Finish Line at 9:42 am, taking third place.
The next Kenai Peninsula musher closest to Nome is Kasilof’s Paul Gebhardt, who’s racing between White Mountain and Safety in approximately 13th.
