Seven years ago, then Governor Sean Parnell helped begin the Choose Respect Initiative in Alaska and the 7th annual Choose Respect March in Kenai will take place March 31.

Waters: “The goal is to bring about awareness of the domestic violence and sexual assault problems in the area and hopefully combat that by respecting people, you can’t hurt somebody that you respect. And so that is what our main goal is.”
She says at noon that Thursday those interested in participating in the walk can assemble in the Leif Hansen Memorial Park near the gazebo for a short stroll to the Kenai Visitors Center. There they will have refreshments and a few speakers.
Waters: “Our keynote speaker is Jeannie Young, she is one of our board members and has a remarkable story to tell.”
