Snow Storm Hits Kenai Peninsula Road System, Misses Major Areas

If you’ve seen vehicles coated with snow on this sunny Saturday, it’s because a snow storm that’s brought winter back to the Anchorage and Mat-Su area also hit parts of the Sterling and Seward Highways.

 

The National Weather Service issued an advisory Saturday morning warning drivers that travel from the Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage may be impacted by up to seven inches of snow Saturday. The alert includes the Kenai Peninsula although

No snow is forecast for the Kenai area today(Saturday) although temperatures may dip below 20 degrees tonight and flurries are possible Sunday around noon.

 

The winter weather advisory for snow is in effect until 4:00 am Sunday.
