Alaska Airlines is considering acquiring another air carrier.
Chris Maurer with CNBC has the details.
“Shares of Virgin America are up about one percent, that’s on a number of reports saying JetBlue and Alaska Air were planning to bid on the airline. Reuters is also reporting that various Asian airliners may also be interested in acquiring Virgin America. Chris Maurer, CNBC.”
If Alaska Airlines does acquire Virgin, it would have a two-fold impact: eliminating one of the airlines’ West Coast rivals and expanding Alaska Airlines’ routes into Mexico.
