Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield, the only insurance company offering individual plans for 2017 at the moment, will have until mid-July to make its rate filings.
State Division of Insurance Director Lori Wing-Heier said originally the filing was expected in May but Moda Health’s announcement that they would be leaving the market complicated the process.
The Division has asked Moda to provide Premera with any information that it would have included in its rate filing if Moda had made one.
Wing-Heier says Premera will be able to assess the risk they will be assuming by incorporating Moda’s data into its filings.
