Championship Saturday at the ASAA State Soccer Championships featured the Kenai Kardinal boys battling South Anchorage.
Kenai 1 – South 3
The Kardinal boys pushed South to the limit; Kenai not allowing a goal until well into the second half of the boys championship game. South scored with about 30 minutes remaining and added a late goal for the 2-0 lead. Both teams scored in the final minutes. Final Score South 3 , Kenai 1.
The Kardinals finish as state runner-up for 2016.
