The Soldotna Stars football programs claim to the “#1 football team in Alaska for 2016” will be affirmed on Friday night at the Anchorage Football Stadium when West Anchorage battles East Anchorage for the Large School division state football championship.
West (7-3) and East (8-2) play the ASAA First National Bowl Large School title game at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 21st at AFS.
The Soldotna Stars, undefeated in 2016, defeated West 49-30 in the season-opener back in August. SoHi rallied to defeat East in week 4 by a score of 22-21.
The Stars are Alaska’s only undefeated team, with Small School state champion Eielson completing the season at 9-1.
