Incumbents Don Young and Lisa Murkowski will head back to the U.S. House and Senate after last night’s vote, but lets take a look at the breakdown of the Kenai Peninsula votes.
Central Kenai Peninsula voters in District 30 cast 96 more votes for Libertarian Joe Miller (2,506) than incumbent Republican U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (2,410).
However Murkowski garnered a 44 percent statewide vote while only 29 percent of Alaskans backed Miller.
The U.S. Representative race on the Kenai Peninsula more closely represented statewide numbers.
Incumbent Republican Don Young got 3,533 votes from central District 30 voters while contender Steve Lindbeck only got 1,471.
