Alaskan leaders and the federal government have clashed over the last few years; now state residents who voted for Donald Trump are hoping for a more cooperative administration.

Many of the disputes over oil and gas, water rights, and King Cove’s road to Cold Bay’s airport have involved the U.S. Department of Interior. One name reportedly being considered as the new possible Secretary of Interior is former Governor Sarah Palin.

The 2008 Vice Presidential Candidate campaigned for Trump throughout his journey to the White House, most recently in Ohio.

Palin: “He’s just the nicest man. He’s so caring, he really is. And at the same, you know, he kinda balances that out with that political incorrectness that we love, we think we need it. Political correctness just gets in the way of speaking truth.”

Politico cites a source in the President elect’s campaign who says Palin may have a role as Interior Secretary. Other names reportedly being considered for the position are Forrest Lucas, the co-founder of Lucas Oil Company; Venture Capitalist Robert Grady; and Donald Trump Jr.
