Dark, damp conditions have made moose nearly impossible to see along Kenai Peninsula roadways and this weekend a Soldotna woman’s vehicle was totaled after a collision with one.
Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle versus moose accident on Sunday, November 13 around 10:22 pm.
Investigation revealed that 41-year-old Jennifer Morgan of Soldotna had struck a moose in the roadway near mile 18 of K-Beach Road with her 1992 Chevy Suburban.
The vehicle was not able to be driven from the scene and Morgan sustained minor injuries.
The moose’s meat was released to a charity on scene.
