At around 10 am Wednesday November 30, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake rattled the Kenai Peninsula.

The U.S. Geological Survey Alaska Earthquake Center initially reported the shaking at 4.1 magnitude, as did the Alaska Earthquake Information Center, but then upgraded it to 4.5.

The earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 31 miles south of Redoubt Volcano at a depth of 61 miles below the earth’s surface.

Residents reported feeling the quake from Anchorage to Seward to Homer and in the Kenai and Soldotna areas.

There is no tsunami warning at this time.
