Both the Kenai Kardinals and Soldotna Stars recorded single North Star Conference victories in their three-game series against teams from the Valley.
Saturday Game Results
Kenai 9 – Palmer 8 Overtime
The Kardinals scored the game-winning goal against the Palmer Moose 1:32 into the overtime period, as Kenai recorded their only win of the season against a Valley conference opponent. Jakeb O’Brien netted the game winning goal for Kenai, his fourth goal of the game. Levi Mese also scored four times for the Kardinals and Wyatt Harvey added a lone goal.
Kenai trail 3-1 early, before the two teams traded goals until Kenai tied the game with 3:04 remaining in regulation off the stick of O’Brien. Final Score: Kenai 9, Palmer 8 OT.
SoHi 0 – Colony 3
The Stars and Knights played two scoreless, hard-hitting, penalty filled periods; before the Knights broke the ice in the third period en route to a 3-0 NSC victory.
SoHi goalie Billy Yoder turned-away 27 shots in the first two period and 33 shots for the game. Colony score two minutes into the final period breaking a 0-0 tie. The Knights added a goal mid-way through the third and an empty-netter to close the game. Final Score: Colony 3, SoHi 0

SoHi 2 – Palmer 0
The Stars shutout Palmer 2-0 in North Star Conference hockey on the strength of a defense that allowed only 18 shots on goal. Billy Yoder recorded the shutout in goal for the Stars. SoHi’s Galen Brantley III tipped in a rebound from a Levi Hensley shot just 1:32 into the game, for the game’s first score. SoHi added an empty-net goal by Parker Lockwood to close the scoring. Final Score: SoHi 2, Palmer 0
Wasilla 12 – Kenai 2
Levi Mese scored both Kardinal goals in a 12-2 Wasilla victory.
