The 19th Annual Dimond Lady Lynx Basketball Tournament closed play on Saturday in two brackets, Maroon and Gold, following games on Saturday.
The Gold Bracket, eight winner’s from Wednesday’s first round, was won by the Chugiak Mustangs. Chugiak became the only 4-0 team in the four-day, 16-team tournament with a victory over Dimond in the championship game. Chugiak downed Wasilla on Friday as the Mustangs defeat Alaska’s top two ranked 4A girls basketball teams.
The Soldotna Lady Stars, following a loss on Wednesday which put SoHi in the Maroon Bracket, defeated South Anchorage 50-41 on Saturday to finish Maroon bracket play at 3-0.

SoHi Girls 50– South 41
SoHi built an early lead and survived a pair of late runs by South for a 50-41 victory. Ituau Tuisaula lead the Stars with 19 points and 13 rebounds as the Stars dominated in the paint. The SoHi girls finish the week with a 3-1 overall record. Tuisaula was named Maroon Bracket MVP.
Kenai 25 – Dimond JV 40
The Kards scored 12 points in the first quarter and managed only 13 points in the next three quarters as the Kardinal girls fell to the Dimond JV team in the 4th place game. Brooke Satathite lead Kenai with 7 seven points.

Kenai Girls 44 – Thunder Mountain 30
The Kardinal girls recorded a 44-30 victory over Thunder Mountain outscoring the Falcons 24-11 in the second half. Brooke Satathite lead the Kards with 15 points.
SoHi 50 – West Valley 47
The SoHi girls advance to the championship game of the Maroon Bracket with a 50-47 victory over West Valley from Fairbanks. The Stars opened the game with an 11-0 run and lead by seven at the half. SoHi lead 40-30 after three quarters, before West Valley rallied to tie the game at 47-47. SoHi scored the final three points for the win. Ituau Tuisaula scored 15 for the Stars.

Kenai 34 – South 35
The Kenai Kardinals fell to South Anchorage in the first game of the Maroon Bracket on Thursday; South hitting a game-winning free throw in the final seconds to break a 34-34 tie. Kenai lead 33-29 after three quarters; however, managed only one free throw in the final eight minutes. Abby Beck scored 12 for the Kardinals.
SoHi 46 – Palmer 40
In a game which pitted two Northern Lights Conference teams in the first round, the Soldotna Stars pulled away from the Palmer Moose in the second half for a 46-40 victory. SoHi outscored Palmer 12-6 in the third quarter to lead by six; than scored 19 points in the fourth for the victory. Britney Blossom lead the scoring with 16 points including four 3-point baskets.
