Kenai Athlete Wins Double Gold At NYO Games

Julieanne Wilson, a senior at Kenai Central High School, topped the competition in two events at the 2017 Alaska Native Youth Olympics, earning two gold medals.

 

Wilson, competing with the Kenaitze Indian tribe, posted the longest distance in the girls seal hop covering 122′ 3.75″ good for the gold medal.

In the one-foot high kick, Wilson recorded a winning 7’6″ attempt and won her second gold medal based on fewest misses.

The Native Youth Olympics concluded on Saturday at the Alaska Airlines Center on the campus of UAA.
