Paul Steffenson stoled home and stoled a victory for the Kenai Kardinal baseball team, a walk-off 13-12 victory over Kodiak in Southcentral Conference baseball action on Wednesday night in Kenai.
Steffenson, a senior for the Kardinals, drove in the game-tying run in the bottom of the 8th inning with a stand-up double; evening the game at 12-12. Steffenson stoled third and then stoled home for the game winner. Steffenson, earlier in the game, hit a pair of home runs and scored after an intentional walk. Batting behind Steffenson, Zach Selinger also hit a pair of home runs, including one in the first inning and one following the walk issued to Steffenson. Steffenson also opened the game on the mound for the Kardinals allowing four runs in four innings. For the game, Kenai recorded 13 runs on nine hits; the Bears scored 12 runs on 11 hits. Final score: Kenai 13 – Kodiak 12.
