SoHi’s Matthew Daugherty pitched a complete game, no-hitter against the Kenai Kardinals in Southcentral Conference baseball action on Wednesday; as the Soldotna Stars downed Kenai 6-0.  Daugherty shutout the Kardinals recording 11 strikeouts and holding the high-scoring Kenai offense without a run.

SoHi’s offense produced six runs, including a three-run, fifth inning highlighted by an RBI safety-squeeze bunt by Caleb Spence.

The SoHi baseball team travels to Kodiak for games on Thursday and Friday to close the regular season.  The Kardinals have completed their regular season conference play and will host Grace Christian on Friday in a non-league contest.

The Soldotna win sets a scenario for the Stars to win the regular season Southcentral Conference title.  The Stars can finish 7-3 in league play with wins in Kodiak.  The Kardinals stand at 7-3 in the SCC.  SoHi, according to baseball umpire Spence and SoHi coach Robb Quelland, the Stars split with Kenai, Homer ad Wasilla ad hold the run differential tiebreaker over the Kardinals.
