Allie Ostrander left the field in her wake as she raced away from the competition to capture the Women’s 3000M Steeplechase at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Track & Field Championships in Eugene. Oregon.

Ostrander pull away from the final challenger on the next to last barrier and ran the final 100M alone down the straightaways; clocking a 2017 Women’s collegiate best time of 9:41.31.  The time is the fastest of the outdoor season and a personal best for Ostrander by nearly 9 seconds.

Ostrander earns the national championship in only her fourth career steeplechase race.

Ostrander is scheduled to race in the Women’s 5000M final just 90 minutes after her championship steeplechase race.
