Oilers Ground Pilots Production For 5-1 ABL Victory

The Peninsula Oilers opened a five-game home series against the Anchorage Glacier Pilots taking advantage of home cooking, quality pitching and early run production; grounding the Pilots 5-1 in Alaska Baseball League play on Thursday at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

 

Oilers 5 – Pilots 1

Caleb Hicks drove in three runs in the the Oilers first inning with a three RBI, double staking the Oilers to a 3-0 lead.  Hicks drove in an other run in the third inning and the Oilers added an insurance run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by John Thomas.

Raymond Kerr earned the win on the mound throwing six innings and allowing only a single run on two hits.  Mason Corneliussen and Caleb Hicks closed the final three innings, allowing no runs and two hits combined.
