The City of Soldotna and the parks department have closed Rotary Park until further notice due to recent bear activity.
Soldotna City Manager Mark Dixson…….
Dixson: “Rotary Park is closed until further notice. There’s a mother black bear and two cubs there currently. We will close it for the evening, check it out tomorrow to see if they’re still in the vicinity. If they are it will remain closed until we’re certain that they have vacated the premises.”
Soldotna police, and the Parks and Rec department vacated the park of all occupants this evening. The park will remain closed until further notice. For any additional details visit the City of Soldotna’s website.
