Oilers Drop Doubleheader To Bucs

The Peninsula Oilers fell to the Anchorage Bucs in Alaska Baseball League action on Friday, dropping a pair of games in a doubleheader at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

 

Bucs 8 – Oilers 2

The Anchorage Bucs plated five runs in the third inning and held the Oilers to two runs on five hits in an 8-2 victory for the Bucs.

 

Bucs 5 – Oilers 2

Oilers starting pitcher Joey Becher held the Bucs in check for six inning, allowing one, unearned run and recording six strikeouts; however, the game was scheduled for seven innings.

In the seventh, the Bucs plated four runs on three hits and an error and stole the game 5-2 from reliever Mike LaBeau.

 

Twice in two days, the Bucs recorded four -run innings in a doubleheader game to win 5-2.  The Bucs take the series three games to two.

 

The Oilers travel to play Mat-Su in a four game series beginning on Sunday, July 23.
