Top of the World Tournament Scenarios

The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinnoks dropped a 4-3 decision to the Anchorage Bucs on Sunday.

The Chinooks loss, combined with the Oilers loss on Sunday, sets up a couple of scenarios for the final playoff position to the Top of the World Series on the final day of the regular season.

  1. An Oilers win on Tuesday over the Pilots and the Oilers, with an 18-25 record, will earn the final playoff spot and will face the #1 seed Mat-Su Miners in the first round of the Top of the Worl d Series on Wednesday in Palmer.
  2. An Oilers loss and a Chinooks win on Monday; and the Oilers and Chinooks will own matching season records of 18-26.  The Chinooks advance to the playoffs with head-to-head tiebreaker.
  3. Chinooks loss to Bucs on Monday and Oilers advance to playoffs.
