The opening competition for the 2017 high school football wrestling season featured peninsula wrestlers battling at the Luke Spruill Memorial Wrestling Tournament at Kenai Central High School on Saturday.
The 2016 state runner-up in the 1-2-3A division, the Homer Mariners, wrestled to the team title and recorded six individual weight-class championships in the single-day competition.
