Magnitude 4.4 Earthquake Friday Afternoon

Just after Noon, Friday November 17th, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook the Kenai Peninsula.

The U.S. Geological Survey Alaska Earthquake Center initially reported the shaking at 4.4 magnitude, as did the Alaska Earthquake Information Center.

 

The earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 7 miles north of Sterling at a depth of 29.7 miles below the earth’s surface.

 

There is no tsunami warning at this time.
