Winter Weather Advisory For The Western Kenai Peninsula

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Western Kenai Peninsula, including the cities of Kenai, Soldotna, Homer,
and Cooper Landing in effect from 9 am to 10 pm, Thursday December 7th.

* WHAT…Mixed precipitation expected. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions, including during the evening commute on Thursday. Total snow accumulations of up to 2 inches, with localized amounts up to 4 inches, and ice accumulations of one tenth to two tenths of an inch are expected.

* WHERE…Western Kenai Peninsula.

* WHEN…9 am to 10 pm Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times. The coolest temperatures will be along the Inlet in Kenai and Soldotna where a mix of snow and freezing rain are expected. Warmer temperatures inland and to the south may result in plain rain as temperatures rise above freezing.
