The Freezer Food Series, a series of Wednesday night events on the Tsalteshi Trails, opens on Wednesday, December 13th with a change in race format for week one of the series.

Week One: 5-Kilometer run

Notice from the Tsalteshi Trails facebook posted December 12…

Due to uncooperative weather and resulting trail conditions, race one is being changed to a 5K(‘ish) run on the single track trails. Be sure to bring a headlamp if you have one. Studded running shoes or cleats would also be advisable. Registration at 5:30 next to the Skyview Middle School ice rink and race start at 6:00.

The 5K freestyle ski originally planned for this week will now be our race event for next Wednesday the 20th.

The Freezer Food Series is a weekly race series instituted in partnership with the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank and Central Peninsula Hospital.  Donations to the food bank will be accepted at each week’s event.

The Freezer Food Series will be structured as a mix of freestyle cross-country ski races interspersed with a variety of other casual race events.  Weekly events are subject to weather and trail conditions.

Updates and race details are available on the Tsalteshi Trails facebook page.

Anyone interested insponsoring a week of the series or volunteering with race day can contact Tsalteshi and/or Jordan Chilson for more information.
