Two parcels and a hotel room drug bust have taken a combined $1.2 million in methamphetamine and heroin off of Alaska’s streets and indicted two suspects.
The U.S. Department of Justice said in a press release that 62-year-old Wilton Eugene Toney and 58-year-old Denita Ann Love, aka Denita Ann Solitaire, both of Anchorage, were indicted on federal drug trafficking charges.
Charging documents state law enforcement officers seized two parcels in Anchorage on January 12, 2018. A search warrant was executed and revealed the parcels contained “approximately 13 pounds of methamphetamine and 3 pounds of heroin.”
The following day, law enforcement then conducted a controlled delivery of the parcels to the lobby of the Barratt Inn Anchorage Airport, where they observed Toney take the parcels to his room.
Law enforcement officers secured and converged on the hotel room where a search warrant revealed that Toney and Love were the only occupants of the room which contained more meth and heroin, digital scales, and three firearms.
“The Alaska State Troopers estimate the approximate combined street value of the seized drugs is $1.2 million” according to the press release.
The Troopers worked with the Drug Enforcement Administration to conduct the investigation that lead to the indictment in this case.
