Conference Basketball Road Weekend Scheduled For Kenai, Nikiski & SoHi: Game Results Posted

Following the release of the WPI rankings for 3A and 4A basketball, the final weekend of January will provide a true look at the strength of the basketball conferences for Kenai, SoHi and Nikiski.

 

Basketball Preview: NLC

The Kenai Kardinals and Soldotna Stars travel to the Valley for Northern Lights Conference games against NLC powerhouses Colony and Wasilla.

Kenai faces Colony and the Stars face Wasilla on Friday.  The Warriors and Knights girls teams are currently one-two in the NLC and both are ranked in the top five in the WPI.  The SoHi girls stand at 5-0 against 4A opponents; however, the Stars have not played the 4A Valley schools yet this season.

Saturday, SoHi will match-up against the Knights and the Kards battle the Warriors.

On the boys side, The Colony Knights stand at 8-1 and are ranked third in 4A basketball.  Wasilla stands at 5-2 and ranked fourth.

Basketball Preview: SCC

The Nikiski Bulldogs are on the road to Seward on Friday and Grace Christian School on Saturday for a pair of Southcentral Conference showdowns.

The Bulldog girls are currently 5-1 in 3A basketball with a single loss to ACS on their record.  The Nikiski girls stand in sixth in the 3A WPI.

The Nikiski boys have a 3A record of 4-4 and stand in 11th on the 3A WPI list.
