The Southcentral Conference and Northern Lights Conference basketball tournaments completed consolation and winner’s bracket contests on Friday with the results setting up Saturday’s third-place and championship games in both conferences.
Southcentral Conference Tournament @ Colony High School
The #2 seeded Nikiski Bulldog girls advance to the championship game on Saturday to face the #1 seed Anchorage Christian School Lion in the girls’ championship game scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
The #1 seed ACS boys will face the #2 seed Grace Christian in the boys’ championship game on Saturday, scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Nikiski Girls 48 – Grace 19
The Bulldog girls advance to the championship game on the strength of a 48-19 victory over Grace Christian, lead by a 22-point effort by Bethany Carstens. The Bulldog girls advance to the girls’ SCC championship game at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Nikiski Boys 40 – ACS 48
The Nikiski boys battled the #1 seed ACS in a 48-40 loss for the Bulldogs. Jace Kornstad scored 22 points for Nikiski. The Bulldog boys move into the double-back round on Saturday with a 12:30 p.m. game against Joe Redington High School; the winner advances to the 3:30 p.m. boys third-place game on Saturday at Colony High School.

The Kardinal boys downed Kodiak 57-48 in the boys consolation contest.
SoHi Boys 32 – Colony 55
The SoHi boys managed only 15 points in the second half of their winner’s bracket game on Friday; as the Knights downed SoHi 55-32. Caleb Spence lead the Stars with 11 points.
SoHi moves into the 3rd-place game on Saturday scheduled for 1:45 p.m.
Kenai Girls 36 – Wasilla 62
The Kardinal girls fell to the #1 seed Wasilla 62-36 in Friday’s semi-final and will play Palmer for third-place on Saturday in the noon contest at Wasilla High. Jaycie Calvert lead the Kardinals with five, three point baskets for 15 points.
