Small Plane Crash In Sterling, No Injuries

The Alaska State Troopers responded to airplane crash off a runway in Sterling on Thursday, April 12th.

 

According to the online Trooper dispatch, the investigation revealed the pilot, Eugene Rohl, 58, from Soldotna, was on final decent for a landing on a dirt airstrip when his left wing hit a tree.

 

The collision with the tree caused the plane to crash, and emergency responders were called to the scene.

 

No injuries were reported and no foul play is suspected. The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA were contacted.
