Peninsula Oilers Reschedule Final Home Stand With Three Doubleheaders

Six games in three days to close the regular season for the Peninsula Oilers.

Not ideal, but, consecutive rain-outs will force the Oilers and Anchorage Glacier Pilots into a three, doubleheader final home series at Coral Seymour Memorial Park.

 

The revised schedule for the Oilers vs Plots series also features three promotional, free days of baseball.

Thursday DH: Oilers vs Pilots   4 p.m   Dolifka and Associates Day   Free Admission

Friday DH: Oilers vs Pilots   4 p.m.  Oilers Booster Club    Free Admission

Saturday: Oilers vs Pilots   5 p.m.   Peninsula Clarion/Coca-Cola   Free Admission

 

The Oilers at 19-19 sit third in the ABL standings, the Pilots (15-21) fourth in the five-team league entering game one of the six-game series.

 

The Oilers lead the season series against the Pilots four games to one entering today. The top four teams at the end of the season earn a spot in the 2018 ABL Top of The World Series.  The Top of the World Series begins August 1st with the two teams hosting, first round playoff series.

The format for the tournament consists of the #1 seed facing the #4 seed, and the #2 seed playing the #3 ranked team in best of three series, winning teams advance to the Top of The World Series final best two of three series.  Currently, the Mat-Su Miners and Anchorage Bucs hold the top two positions in the ABL standings.
