The Soldotna Stars and Kenai Kardinals overpowered their week two opponents in high school football action on Friday; the Stars dominating North Pole 66 -19 and the Kardinals dismantling the Homer Mariners 58-6

 

SoHi 66 – North Pole 19

The Soldotna Stars defeated North Pole 66-19 in a pairing featuring playoff opponents from 2017 and 2016 in Division II football.  The Stars scoring drives included:

22-yard touchdown pass from Jersey Truesdell to Galen Brantley III

1-yard rushing touchdown by Wyatt Medcoff

26-yard rushing touchdown by Aaron Faletoi

16-yard rushing touchdown by Wyatt Medcoff

23-yard rushing touchdown by Hunter Medcalf

39-yard touchdown pass from Truesdell to Cy Updike

35-yard touchdown pass from Truesdell to Brantley III

19-yard touchdown run by Cameron Johnson

3-yard touchdown run by Tyler Johnson

65-yard touchdown run by Trent O’Reagan

–SoHi lead 54-0 just four minutes into the second quarter.  The Stars defense recorded five interceptions.

 

Kenai 58 – Homer 6

The Kardinals overwhelmed the Homer Mariners 58-6 in a match-up of non-divisional teams.

Kenai scored on every possession in the first half except for allowing time to expire in the half.

45-yard touchdown run by Riddall

37-yard touchdown run by Riddall

–Kenai lead 30-0 after one quarter and 44-6 at the half.
